I’m Ondřej Kačírek - A hobby Gamedev/Programmer that likes to explore new technologies, workflows and programming languages. I also enjoy Webdesign and development of software in general.
Skills
Webdev
I find Webdesign and Webdev quite enjoyable, especially when using a framework such as Svelte (I love you svelte). Though I have tried other frameworks as well. Most notably, React and React Native.
Gamedev
For years now I have been primarily using Unity to develop all my game projects, even started writing custom plugins.
Recently I started learning Godot and plan to at least partially switch to it. The clean node architecture, built-in command palette and absolutely no bloat makes Godot strong contender in my opinion.
However, GDscript - The built in language, I found quite lacking, especially when it comes to interfaces/traits and namespaces - features both present in Unity
Current Projects
So there are two main things in the works right now.
Gixel
A Godot based extendable pixel-art editor. This project is mostly for me to learn deeper functionality and features of Godot. But who knows? Perhaps it will grow into something bigger.
Project: Woven Souls
A game about two rivals ending up stranded beneath the surface of an ancient planet in pursuit of a magical artifact. Now, their souls interwoven, they have to forge an alliance to survive and uncover the dark past of an alien race inhabiting the planet.
